QBudget: Support...

The annual QBudget subscription entitles you to telephone and online support for subscribed copies of the software. This support covers the software program QBudget, subject to our recommendations for appropriate use (see below). It does NOT cover any additional support required to either install or configure a virtual environment such as VirtualBox or Parallels. However, there is nothing non-standard about the set up we require and so your normal IT support people should be able to do this, or we can agree separately to do this for you if you prefer. It takes around one hour for which we charge £80.00 plus VAT. Further support, for example, installing additional printer drivers in the virtual machine is charged pro rata at the same rate, minumum one hour. We strongly recommend simply installing a PDF writer in the virtual machine and using the printers already set up on the host machine to handle the rest.

Appropriate use is defined as follows:
- It is the user's responsibility to ensure that they keep backup copies of their QBudget database(s). At a minimum, this means the file C:\Q-B2000\AFVPA.MDB. In the event of database corruption we will do our best to recover your budget(s) but our obligation is limited to restoring your system from YOUR last backup.
- Do not use the software over a network. It's fine to use a network to backup budgets but ALWAYS work from a local copy.
- If the custom header information is lost, report this to us asap as this is often a first sign of database corruption.
- It is perfectly acceptable to customise QBudget rates and other settings. However our support is limited to restoring a factory default install with the latest rates loaded, should things go wrong. Hence, if you customise the software, keep backups!!!

We maintain the Rates Database and also undertake to produce Rates Updates for users to install if/when the APA inform us of new crew rates etc.

Access to our online and/or telephone support requires each user of QBudget to have a current support contract. The cost, per copy, is currently £325 per annum. As noted elsewhere, discounts may be available to sites using lots of copies. Please note that if you contact us and do not have a valid subscription then we will only respond during reasonable working hours. Subscribers will have been given an out-of-hours emergency contact number to us "in extremis"!

Please ensure you have noted your serial number and user name in advance as you cannot relicence online without this information (or run Check QBudget licence from the start menu). If the online system isn't doing what you want, and for all other queries, please call our telephone hotline number:

How to update:

Start QBudget and confirm you're set to AFVPA (or APA) using Options: Database. Contact us if not.

Download the update and unzip it to your desktop.

Open Tools:Manager. On the RHS locate and open the update. The LHS is your data.

Copy the new budget from RHS to LHS. This is your new template.

Use the small radio buttons (bottom LHS corner) to select "Rates" and delete the rates on the LHS. Finally copy all the rates from RHS to LHS. That's it. Quit the Manager.

Use File:Copy to start all new budgets.
