QBudget: Support...Why is there an annual subscription to QBudget? When we bought QBudget one of the comments we heard frequently was that the support needed to be better. We realised that shifting, where possible, from a human response (that could take time) to an immediate online solution was necessary, backed up with human engineering support that could then focus on the more individual problems or queries. Our response was to make the process of relicencing and updating QBudget largely automated.Access to online and/or telephone support requires each user of QBudget to have a current support contract. The cost, per copy, is currently £325 per annum. As noted elsewhere, good discounts are available to sites using lots of copies. Please ensure you have noted your serial number and user name in advance as you cannot relicence online without this information (or run Check QBudget licence from the start menu). If the online system isn't doing what you want, and for all other queries, please call our telephone hotline number: 07050 660 014 / help@qbudget.com The rates database is now built into QBudget for all users and is no longer an option at additional cost. Perhaps a user wants to reinvent the wheel and repeat all the same research to try and save money? This is a false economy - it takes at least 3 days to poll all the supplier data and check it - how much is your time worth? For those who reckon they don't need this data, our experience suggests that sooner or later it's a life saver. With the ability to react instantly to any change and not wait for a batch of new data - because we can now update over the net at any time - we think the Rates Database is an integral part of QBudget. |
How to update: Start QBudget and confirm you're set to AFVPA (or APA) using Options: Database. Contact us if not. Download the update and unzip it to your desktop. Open Tools:Manager. On the RHS locate and open the update. The LHS is your data. Copy the new budget from RHS to LHS. This is your new template. Use the small radio buttons (bottom LHS corner) to select "Rates" and delete the rates on the LHS. Finally copy all the rates from RHS to LHS. That's it. Quit the Manager. Use File:Copy to start all new budgets. |
